Hi — I’m testkun (@testkun08080).
Thanks for visiting Nannyakore (“What even is this?”), my personal blog.

Why I started the blog and what I plan to write are in the first post — worth a read alongside this page.

Here’s a quick introduction. Feel free to skim.

Profile

I work around the game industry and mostly run on curiosity. I started out in design and joined the industry as a designer, then picked up programming on the job and kept learning on my own. Before I knew it, I had become a technical artist — a generalist who bridges design and engineering.

Basics

  • From: Tokyo
  • Age: Somewhere between my twenties and thirties (it varies by the day)
  • Pets: I’d love a cat, but I’m rarely away long enough to ignore one — for now, photos and videos do.
  • Favorite foods: Natto, tofu, and rice (I could probably live on that alone.)

Career path

  1. School: I missed a lot of class but still finished high school and went to a game-focused college.
  2. Employment: I joined a well-known Japanese game studio, then worked at an overseas studio because I wanted that experience abroad.
  3. Turning point: I left to explore hardware and device-style work.
  4. Now: I freelance (I jokingly call myself a NEET), juggling savings and investments while dipping into all kinds of creative projects.

Things I like

  • Cats
  • Travel
  • Japanese food
  • Hot springs and saunas
  • Photography
  • Walking
  • Shrines and temples

Things I’m not great with

  • Trypophobia–type patterns…

What I write about here

I’m bad at sticking to one niche — I go deep on whatever catches my interest. Expect a mix of personal projects, curiosity-driven notes, and occasional news or life updates.

  • Art / design / game development / programming
  • Daily news / life / saving and investing
  • Space / urban legends / spirituality / history

It may read a bit scattered because I don’t anchor on a single theme — if you’re fine with that, I’m glad you’re here.

About the name “Nannyakore”

I wanted a place to hold everyday “what is this?” moments — the small surprises and questions that come up in daily life. This blog is where I collect those thoughts and “oh, so that’s how it works” discoveries.

Thanks for reading — I hope you’ll stick around.
